Children's Commissioning Support Resource

Placement teams and local authority commissioners across Wales use the Children's Commissioning Support Resource (CCSR) to find suitable placements for children in their care.

Local authorities can detail a child's individual requirements, run a search and then issue a placement referral/tender; using CCSR to shortlist the providers who can meet the needs of children in their care.

The resource holds details of care settings and places available for children from a range of service providers, including residential homes and foster carers. These are continually updated by care providers, ensuring that CCSR provides the most up-to-date information possible for Wales.

New for 2023

Having been an established resource within Wales for over a decade, CCSR is currently undergoing a period of development.

The system has been migrated to a Cloud based solution. This will ensure data security and compliance and will allow for more innovation.

The system now includes an option to generate their Individual Placement Contracts (IPCs).

A series of reports have been developed to help you monitor activity and provide the evidence base for future business planning. Reports relate to tenders and searches, placements, and capacity.

Improvements have been shaped by feedback and suggestions from users as well as the valuable consultation from the Children's Commissioning Consortium Cymru (4Cs).
